In this presentation, educators, administrators, and partners will learn about Commonwealth Charter Academy’s (CCA) unique, newly constructed community resource, TechWorks at CCA, based in Pittsburgh for students in grades K through 12. As one component of the CCAWorks initiative, TechWorks at CCA is a state-of-the-art facility where students can participate in hands-on, exploratory learning in technology, such as robotics, computer science, coding, and AR/VR. CCA’s goal is to provide unique learning opportunities to its students across the commonwealth, while opening its doors to schools and students throughout the local community.
Sponsored by UPMC - Living DoNATION
The Living DoNATION is a youth-education program about kidney health, treatment options, and living donation. With one in three adult Americans at increased risk for kidney disease, and 100,000 people waiting for a kidney transplant, it is important for students to understand kidney health and treatment. Presented in partnership with UPMC, The Living DoNATION is available for middle schools and high schools. We provide in-person or virtual speakers and pre-recorded videos. We also have lesson plans and other tools to engage students. For more information, please visit Cherie Peters at her virtual exhibit booth or go to
